Medicaid home care
PCA & HHA services covered by Medicaid
If your loved one needs help with daily activities at home, Medicaid or a managed long-term care plan may cover a personal care aide or home health aide.
What's the difference?
Personal Care Aide (PCA)
Helps with everyday tasks: bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping and shopping.
Home Health Aide (HHA)
Does everything a PCA does, plus health-related tasks under nurse supervision, such as checking vital signs and helping with medications and exercises.
Who may qualify
- People enrolled in Medicaid or a Medicaid managed long-term care plan
- Seniors, adults with disabilities, and children with special needs
- Anyone who needs help with daily activities to live safely at home
The amount of care is decided by an assessment. We'll walk you through it.
